As a lead backend engineer who has built and scaled AI-driven hiring infrastructure using Node.js and TypeScript at UseHirable, he brings directly transferable competitor-side experience into Beamery's talent management platform, where Ian's engineering team are known to recruit at exactly this seniority and stack.
Day 0 email · Lead Node.js / TypeScript engineer, AI hiring infrastructure background
Hi Ian,
I have a lead backend engineer who has spent the last six years building and scaling AI-driven hiring platforms, most recently at UseHirable where he leads the backend for a live AI career product serving 3,000+ users as part of a five-person engineering team.
His stack is TypeScript, NestJS, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis and Docker, which maps closely to what Beamery's engineering team typically recruits at this seniority level. The domain overlap is the more interesting angle here, having built production infrastructure on the competitor side of talent technology, he would step into Beamery's platform with genuine context rather than a learning curve.
His target compensation is on his CV. I have not shared it with other companies at this stage and wanted to bring it to you first.
Worth a conversation? Happy to send the CV if so.

The City of Ottawa is a Canadian municipal government, not an AI-powered job matching platform competing with UseHirable, so the competitor-peer discovery angle appears to be a data error and there is no credible hiring signal or domain alignment to justify this outreach.

Henry,
I was preparing a candidate pitch for your team but something stopped me before sending it.
The match reason I was given positioned the City of Ottawa as a competitor to an AI-powered hiring platform, which is clearly a data error. Rather than send you something built on a flawed premise, I wanted to flag it instead.
If there is a genuine engineering hire you are working on, I am happy to have a proper conversation about what you need. I do have a strong TypeScript/NestJS backend lead with AI-platform experience who may or may not be relevant, but I would rather understand your actual requirements first than pitch blindly.
Worth a quick call if anything is live?
